Who would you like to find in your stocking this Christmas?

Postcard

Christmas is that special time of year when we indulge in classic stories, traditional tales and magical childhood memories. Amongst many favourites is the loveable fictional character, Pinocchio, the tale originally told by Carlo Collodi of a wooden puppet who dreamed of becoming a real boy.

Here is Pinocchio as you’ve never seen him before, telling his own story through the master story-teller Michael Morpurgo.

“Michael Morpurgo makes free with Collodi’s moralising tale … to tell it from the puppet’s perspective… with Pinocchio’s round-eyed cheeriness warmed by the sunshine of southern Italy.” Nicolette Jones, Culture, The Sunday Times
