War Horse opens in Belgium

War Horse, the sensational and unique production with lifelike horses of the British National Theatre in collaboration with the South African Handspring Puppet Company, has thrilled audiences around the world with its extraordinary story and the unique design.

This month, this captivating performance arrives in Antwerp, with Flemish actors in the main roles in a Flemish translation. The local actors who operate Joey and his friend Topt Horn, are receiving intensive training.

Michael Morpurgo recently accompanied Joey on a visit to Flanders Fields, a place which holds special meaning for him, as is was the land of Michael’s Grandfather, the Belgium poet Emile Cammaerts.
