An excellent book to help develop children's vocabulary. This book also has a very strong message about being careful what we should wish for, as well as making children think how animals must feel in a zoo. Morpurgo takes a simple story and turns it into a beautiful, poetic tale which lives on in the mind long after putting the book down.

A delightful and thought provoking book brought to life through Michaels ability to draw you into the story. Beautifully illustrated and one to hand down through the family.
