AnnieD says:

I am a teacher and last year read a number of Michael's books to my Primary 6 class. They all absolutely loved his writing but Twist of Gold was the book which stood out to me as having the most impact. It covers so many settings and is so gripping - I couldn't wait to read it to the everyday to see what would happen next. As much as I loved War Horse I think that Twist of Gold would make an even better film!

The Michael Morpurgo lovers says:

My brother and I have both extremly enjoyed Michael Morpurgo's Twist Of Gold. Seeing as we are both part Irish it is very intresting to learn what happened in real life to relitives of ours. Seeing as I love acting and the book (Girl aged 11) and my brother (Boy age 8) loves the book and learning about the Irish history in through the book we would love to see a film come out of Twist of Gold. Aswell we have always said this would make a great film. Listen to our opion, it will be a sucsess definitly! It would be an amazing story of sibblings, adventure involved with the Irish history. We both recomend this book. 10/10!

John Dean says:

The story is set during the Irish potato famine. There is a family called the O' Brien's and they are very poor so their father sets off to America to find a new life. Meanwhile back in Ireland sean and annie and their mother are trying to survive while their father builds a farm but their mother is about to die so sean and annie set off to find their father in america and they are told to take the family's golden torc which has been in the family for more than a hundred years! They are then in a ship wreck so I am not sure whether they make it to America? You will have to read the book to find out more!!
