Izzy says:

Friend Or Foe is my favourite Michael Morpurgo book because its about a real historical event evacuation and war that millions of children went through and Michael writes about this period of time so well you can really imagine what it must have been like for these two boys. Its sad but funny and everytime I read it I feel like one of the characters in the book.I have now read this book about 20 -100 times and I love more every time I read it.

MBr says:

I must say, I have read a number of books , from short stories to long novels, about crime, love, war, for young children and adults. Friend or Foe is one of these books where you actually feel like one of the characters of the story. WW2 is a times that has affected many, and Friend or Foe shows that very well. We learn about the evacuation from two young boys and the affect it has on their lives, and we see two German pilotes, who just want to survive and return home. I recommend this book, it is a brilliant story, you learn a lot, and you can read it a 100 times, you will always pick it up again one day.
